Spring 2005 IssuesPA/Pew Poll: Values and Government Reform

The latest IssuesPA/Pew Poll shows Pennsylvanians’ ongoing concern about taxes, which exceeds jobs as an economic concern. Concerns about gasoline prices have emerged in the public consciousness, supplanting some concern about jobs. As the 2006 Gubernatorial and U.S. Senate races are starting to gain some traction, Pennsylvanians show a strong appetite for campaign finance reform and stronger rules regarding the roles and responsibilities of lobbyists. The poll also provides a view of Pennsylvanians’ trust in government and confidence in elected leaders.
