Average Annual Costs of Employment-based Health Care Insurance

The cost of health insurance varies by state. Even larger variance could be found between regions in a state. Factors that play a role in creating state-by state differences include the overall cost of living, the presence of institutions that provide a disproportionate amount of high cost procedures, the presence of medical schools, the amount of competition in the insurance market, and the regulated insurance environment in a state.
